- Enter @Botfather in the search field and select this bot. (Official Telegram bots have a blue checkmark next to their name.)
- Click "Start" to activate the BotFather bot.
- Select or type the command /newbot and send it.
- Choose a name for your bot — your subscribers will see it in the dialogue. And select a username for your bot — this will make it searchable. The username must be unique and end with "bot."
- After selecting a username — your bot is ready. You will receive a message with a link to your bot t.me/<bot_username>, recommendations for setting up a profile picture, description, and a list of commands to manage the bot. To connect the bot to Athena, you need the token. Copy your token.
- In Athena, go to the "Channels" section, click "Add Channel," select Telegram, enter the token you copied, name the channel, and click "Next."
