Instructions for Connecting Telegram

  1. Enter @Botfather in the search field and select this bot. (Official Telegram bots have a blue checkmark next to their name.)
  2. Click "Start" to activate the BotFather bot.
  3. Select or type the command /newbot and send it.
  4. Choose a name for your bot — your subscribers will see it in the dialogue. And select a username for your bot — this will make it searchable. The username must be unique and end with "bot."
  5. After selecting a username — your bot is ready. You will receive a message with a link to your bot t.me/<bot_username>, recommendations for setting up a profile picture, description, and a list of commands to manage the bot. To connect the bot to Athena, you need the token. Copy your token.
  6. In Athena, go to the "Channels" section, click "Add Channel," select Telegram, enter the token you copied, name the channel, and click "Next."
